February 25, 2022 — The ConnectMaine Authority today celebrated an announcement that it has been awarded a $28 million grant by the U.S. Department of Commerce. PILOT PROJECT OFFERS FREE WIFI IN MILL CREEK PARK
August 24, 2016 — Free public wifi is now available in Mill Creek Park through a partnership between the city and Axiom Technologies of Machias.
Axiom installed wifi equipment in the park as a pilot project that will operate for at least a year, said Chris Dumais, South Portland’s information technology director.
Dumais said he believes providing free wifi in public places is an economic driver that will benefit residents and attract visitors. read >>

Microsoft Awards First Grants to Help Expand Global Internet Access
May 24, 2016 - All of the current grant recipients are for-profit enterprises. One of them, Axiom Technologies, is based in eastern Maine and will use the money to expand Internet access there.
